“I Menhirs” is only a 5 minute car drive from the marvellous Costa Rei beach, as well as 10 minute drive from Villasimius, the famous and renown tourist destination.
It is easy to reach “I Menhirs”: the tourist resort has a large private parking and lies within an unique location, still untouched by mass tourism: l’Annunziata, a hamlet belonging to the municipality of Castiadas, in the Cagliari province, on the eastern coast of Sardinia.
Castiadas
The area of Castiadas is marked by an evergreen landscape, with a crystal clear turquoise blue sea, healthy air and uncontaminated environment: 20 km long coast, wonderful beaches and landscapes immersed in a lush vegetation, enchanting coves, where the blue of the sea merges with the white of long sandy beaches, a transparent sea, reminding of the Caribbean. A real paradise, from seabeds covered with posidonia sea grass to the turquoise and emerald surface of the beautiful sea.
In the territory of Castiadas there are many beaches with different colours and structures, from a white fine sand to a golden thicker one. The area lies 50 km from the port of Cagliari and about 55 km from the Elmas airport. The new Statale 125, a Statal road connecting Cagliari to Arbatax, is almost completed; the road goes through the territory of Castiadas and will consistently reduce distance and travelling time. The road presently connecting Cagliari to Castiadas is quite trafficked but also a panoramic drive.

To reach Castiadas from Cagliari, you have to drive through a plain of the municipality of Quartu Sant’Elena (third biggest town in Sardinia) and go along a winding road with breath-taking views. Before reaching Castiadas, you’ll see along the way seaside resorts, such as: Cala Regina, Geremeas, Torre delle Stelle, Solanas, Villasimius, and admire promontories covered with a lush Mediterranean shrub and coves with emerald-turquoise sea. After a series of difficult hairpin bends, you’ll finally reach Castiadas territory. If you come from the port of Arbatax or from Tortolì airport, you will drive on the new Statale 125, going through the villages of Barisardo, Tertenia, Villaputzu, Muravera, and finally the hamlet San Priamo, before reaching the area of Castiadas.
